Psychologist | Sydney CBD

Are you feeling burnt out in clinic, overwhelmed by high caseloads, or like you’re ready for a more meaningful and sustainable way to use your psychology background?

We are currently exclusively partnering with a leading national workplace rehabilitation provider (award-winning and highly regarded in the industry), expanding within the psychological injury and workplace rehabilitation space.

This is an opportunity to step into a Rehabilitation Counsellor role where you can move away from traditional clinical therapy and use your psychological expertise in a more consultative, varied and autonomous environment. You will be supporting individuals recovering from psychological and workplace-related injuries, helping them rebuild confidence, function, and return to meaningful employment.

You’ll have the flexibility to structure your own day, with hybrid working and the autonomy to manage your caseload in a highly supportive, outcomes-focused team. Working hours are typically 8am–6pm, with flexibility to manage your schedule around results rather than rigid time constraints.

What’s on offer
• Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Salary $85,000 – $110,000 + super (depending on experience)
• Bonus structure with achievable targets
• Hybrid working model (2 days in office, remainder WFH and community-based work)
• Highly structured onboarding and induction program designed to set you up for success
• Laptop and phone provided
• Travel reimbursed (km, tolls, parking)
• Strong focus on wellbeing, flexibility and work-life balance
• Career progression pathways into senior, leadership and specialist roles
• Regular training, supervision and professional development

About the role
• Manage a caseload of psychological injury claims across workplace and insurer schemes
• Complete functional, vocational and psychological-based assessments (non-therapy focused)
• Identify barriers impacting recovery, engagement and return-to-work outcomes
• Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation and recovery-focused return-to-work plans
• Participate in case conferences with treating psychologists, GPs, insurers and employers
• Provide vocational counselling, workplace support and recovery guidance
• Support job readiness, transferable skill identification and workplace reintegration
• Maintain detailed case notes, reports and stakeholder communication
• Travel to client sites, workplaces and appointments when required
• Contribute to positive, sustainable recovery outcomes in complex psychological cases

About you
• AHPRA registered Psychologist or ASORC Rehabilitation Counsellor
• Experience or interest in workplace rehabilitation or return-to-work (highly regarded)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage a full caseload in a fast-paced but supportive environment
• Comfortable with travel and community-based work
• Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
• A growth mindset and interest in moving beyond traditional clinical therapy

This is a genuine opportunity to step away from clinical burnout and into a role where your psychological expertise is used in a broader, more applied way — helping people recover, rebuild and successfully return to work, within a highly supportive and structured environment.
