This creates an exciting opportunity for an experienced transformation executive to join at a pivotal time and influence how strategic investment, enterprise change and innovation are delivered across the organisation.
About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished General Manager – PMO to lead the organisation's enterprise transformation portfolio, project delivery capability, innovation agenda and investment governance processes.
Reporting to a C-suite executive, this highly influential role sits at the centre of strategic decision-making and will partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team, senior leaders and key governance forums to ensure organisational investments are effectively prioritised and deliver measurable outcomes.
The mandate is to evolve the PMO into a trusted enterprise function that enables better investment decisions, strengthens portfolio performance and ensures sustainable benefits are realised from significant transformation initiatives.
Key priorities include:
- Leading the enterprise project and transformation portfolio, improving visibility, prioritisation, and accountability.
- Maturing portfolio management, project governance and delivery capability.
- Providing strategic advice to executives on investment priorities, portfolio performance, organisational risk and innovation opportunities.
- Strengthening business case evaluation, investment prioritisation, and benefits realisation.
- Establishing pragmatic frameworks, methodologies and tools that enable effective project delivery.
- Driving cross-functional collaboration and strengthening organisational change capability.
- Leading and developing a capable, engaged, and respected Project Management Office team.
- Fostering a culture of innovation, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
Success will be demonstrated through stronger alignment between strategy, investment and delivery, improved portfolio visibility and benefits realisation, and greater executive confidence in transformation outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced enterprise transformation and portfolio leader who combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong delivery capability. You are comfortable operating at executive level while remaining pragmatic and close enough to delivery to understand what is really happening across a complex portfolio.
You will bring demonstrated capability across the five priority areas of enterprise transformation, portfolio leadership, PMO maturity, benefits realisation, and project delivery.
Your background will ideally include:
- 10+ years' experience across business transformation, change management and process improvement.
- Significant leadership and project/program management experience.
- Direct experience leading, transforming or maturing an enterprise PMO or portfolio function.
- Previous experience delivering large and complex transformation programs.
- Strong portfolio and investment governance capability.
- Executive-level stakeholder management and experience presenting to Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link investment decisions to measurable operational, financial and strategic outcomes.
- The ability to influence without relying on authority and build trust across complex stakeholder groups.
- Relevant tertiary, project management and change management qualifications.
Experience within aged care or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous; however, proven capability in enterprise transformation, portfolio leadership and investment governance is considered more important than industry background.
