Human Resources Business Partner World-Class Golf Resort Development | Muriwai, Auckland $120,000 - $140,000 + Career Pathway to Head of People & Culture
Be Part of Building Something Extraordinary. This is not a typical HR Business Partner role.
A landmark luxury resort development on Auckland's iconic west coast is seeking an experienced HR professional to establish and lead its People & Culture function during a pivotal growth phase.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Muriwai, this world-class destination is being developed to deliver championship golf, premium hospitality and an exceptional guest experience. As the organisation's first dedicated HR leader, you will have the opportunity to build the people function from the ground up and play a key role in shaping the culture, capability and future success of the business.
The Opportunity: Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will partner with senior leadership to create the people strategy, systems and culture required to support a growing workforce.
This role offers a unique blend of strategic influence and operational delivery as the organisation progresses through:
Foundation Phase: Establishing HR systems, policies, employment frameworks and people processes.
Pre-Opening Phase: Leading workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding ahead of launch.
Growth & Operational Phase: Partnering with leaders to drive engagement, capability, performance and culture across a rapidly expanding team.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and leadership team
  • Develop and implement HR frameworks, policies and employment agreements
  • Lead workforce planning and recruitment activity
  • Design onboarding, induction and employee experience programmes
  • Manage employee relations and performance processes
  • Support immigration and international talent initiatives
  • Implement HR systems and people reporting capabilities
  • Develop learning and leadership programmes
  • Drive engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives

About You You are an experienced HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor who enjoys building capability, solving complex people challenges and operating in fast-paced growth environments.
You will likely bring:
  • Proven HR generalist experience in New Zealand
  • Strong employment relations knowledge
  • Experience building or improving HR frameworks and processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercial acumen and business partnership capability
  • A practical, hands-on approach alongside strategic thinking
  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, leisure, premium service or fast-growth environments would be highly advantageous
  • Experience supporting immigration and international recruitment programmes would be beneficial
  • Mandarin language capability would be an advantage but is not essential
