Foward Deployed Automation Developer

Overview

Client is seeking a Forward Deployed Automation Developer to build and deploy AI-powered automation solutions that transform Finance operations. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, software development, and finance transformation, partnering directly with Finance teams to design, develop, and implement production-ready automation solutions that are reliable, governed, and auditable. Success is measured by delivering solutions that become part of daily business operations rather than proof-of-concept projects. This output follows the established project workflow format.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of AI-enabled automation solutions from requirements gathering through production deployment.
• Partner directly with Finance stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and continuously improve intelligent automation workflows.
• Architect reliable data pipelines that integrate multiple data sources to support automation initiatives.
• Develop AI-driven workflows using modern AI frameworks, APIs, and automation platforms.
• Implement governance controls, auditability, human-in-the-loop workflows, fallback logic, and enterprise guardrails.
• Collaborate with architects, technical teams, and business users throughout solution delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve automation platforms based on operational feedback.
• Produce technical documentation covering architecture, assumptions, dependencies, and implementation decisions.
• Participate in scheduled on-call support during month-end and quarter-end financial close activities.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

• 7 years of software engineering or automation development experience.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Strong SQL development experience.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and API integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, Large Language Models (LLMs), or intelligent automation platforms.
• Experience building production-ready automation solutions.
• Experience integrating enterprise data into scalable automation workflows.
• Experience implementing governance, auditability, and controlled AI workflows.
• Experience with modern AI development tools and agentic frameworks.
• Experience using AI workflow builders such as n8n or similar platforms.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar environments.

Preferred Skills or Experience

• Experience supporting Finance organizations.
• Experience building AI solutions in highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience delivering production AI systems with governance and compliance controls.
• Experience supporting business-critical production applications.
• Experience with month-end or quarter-end Finance operations.

Work Details

• Remote (U.S.)
• 7 years of experience required.
• Participation in an on-call rotation supporting month-end and quarter-end Finance close activities, including occasional after-hours and weekend support.
