Lab Tech - I (Assistant)

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required
• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred

Skills & Competencies:

• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Basic reading, math, and computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must successfully complete a Physical Abilities Test (POET)

Working Conditions

• Schedule may vary based on business needs
• May require rotating shifts, including weekends
• Overtime flexibility is required
• No travel required

Responsibilities

This role supports an antigen production laboratory, performing both aseptic and non-aseptic manufacturing processes.

Key Duties Include:

• Perform aseptic processes such as antigen inoculation, cell culture preparation, and harvesting
• Perform non-aseptic processes, including handling live animal virus during tissue harvesting and waste management
• Operate and assist with setup of manufacturing equipment throughout the production cycle
• Execute manual and/or automated operations, including basic maintenance and support tasks
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards in all work areas
• Perform facility decontamination according to approved procedures
• Maintain accurate, concurrent documentation (e.g., charts, logbooks, batch records)
• Identify and report safety, compliance, environmental, or process deviations to appropriate personnel
• Support hazardous waste handling, labeling, and management (with proper training)
• Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with weekly reporting as assigned
• Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and meetings to enhance job skills and knowledge
