Technical Sales Representative

Our client a market-leading manufacturer of sustainable building products seeking a technically astute Technical Sales Representative to drive our commercial Building Services and drainage ranges.

In this role, you will hold and convert specifications from early project design through to on-site completion. You will work directly with key influencers in the sector, including M&E consultants, civil engineers, main contractors, and specialist merchants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specification & Conversion: Track the project pipeline and engage specifiers using CPDs and technical data to secure and protect drainage and building services specifications.

  • Technical Advisory: Interpret site drawings and building regulations to advise clients on correct product applications, hydraulic suitability, and drainage design.

  • Account Management: Build high-trust partnerships with key commercial, industrial, and civils accounts to drive profitable sales growth.

  • On-Site Support: Provide hands-on technical guidance and coordinate installation training programs on-site to ensure best practice.

Person Specification

  • Minimum 5 years in a technical sales role, specifically coming out of the drainage, civils, or commercial plumbing sectors.

  • Proven ability to read construction/engineering drawings, interpret building regulations, and deliver complex water management or drainage solutions.

  • Documented history of sales growth and pipeline management over the last 5 years.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Familiarity with CAD and BIM applications
