Functional Analyst, SAP Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

Location: Chicago, IL — hybrid, three days onsite per week
Employment Type: W-2 contract-to-hire, with anticipated conversion after approximately six months
Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Lactalis is seeking a Functional Analyst to support procurement and materials management processes across its SAP ECC and S/4HANA platforms. In this role, you’ll partner with business and IT teams to design solutions, configure processes, improve system functionality, and support integrations across the organization.

This opportunity is suited to someone with hands-on SAP P2P/MM experience who enjoys solving business problems and communicating clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Gather business requirements, document current processes, and recommend improvements to procurement and materials management workflows.
• Design, configure, test, and support SAP P2P/MM solutions.
• Support direct and indirect procurement, inventory management, material requirements planning (MRP), subcontracting, and stock transfer processes.
• Support intra-company and intercompany stock transfer orders and EDI integrations.
• Create functional specifications for custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Support integration across SAP MM, EWM, PP, QM, PM, SD, and FI/CO, as well as external applications.
• Contribute to S/4HANA implementations using global templates with local adaptations where needed.
• Troubleshoot system issues, document solutions, and coordinate resolution with business and IT teams.
• Evaluate enhancement requests and communicate scope and proposed solutions to business partners and leadership.

What You’ll Bring

• Three or more years of strong functional experience in SAP P2P and Materials Management.
• Hands-on application and configuration experience with both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with at least two full-cycle S/4HANA implementations, whether greenfield or brownfield.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory, MRP, subcontracting, and intra-company and intercompany stock transfers.
• Understanding of warehouse processes, including shipping, inventory adjustments, picking and packing, and inbound/outbound flows.
• Knowledge of SAP output types and IDoc types supporting materials management, purchase orders, shipments, and invoices.
• Understanding of integration points across finance, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and third-party systems.
• Ability to lead requirements discussions, develop functional specifications, and translate technical concepts into clear business language.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, information management, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

• Food industry experience.
• Contract manufacturing processes.
• SAP WM/EWM experience.

Work Environment

This role follows a hybrid schedule in Chicago and involves close collaboration with business and IT teams. Occasional travel and additional hours may be required based on project needs.
