A Global IT Service firm is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer. 

Responsibilities:
- Participate in frontend development projects from early planning and requirements definition through implementation and production deployment
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality frontend systems for high-traffic e-commerce platforms, focusing on performance, accessibility, and maintainability
- Build reusable React components and contribute to frontend architecture using modern technologies including Next.js, TypeScript, and state management libraries
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements, project scope, and technical solutions
- Lead technical decision-making, own complex features, and drive initiatives that improve engineering productivity and development processes
- Prepare technical specifications, design documents, and present technical proposals and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and provide technical leadership within a global, cross-functional engineering team across Japan and China
- Partner with product teams to influence product direction, roadmap planning, and deliver business-impacting solutions
- Leverage AI-powered development tools and review AI-generated code to ensure correctness, security, and adherence to best practices

Required Skills:
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience, preferably in e-commerce or other high-traffic consumer applications
- Proven experience delivering frontend projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering and technical planning to production deployment
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and QA
- Strong proficiency in React (React 16+), including component lifecycle, Hooks, and modern development patterns
- Strong experience with TypeScript, including generics, utility types, and type-safe development practices
- Hands-on experience with Next.js (App Router or Pages Router), modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern CSS methodologies such as Tailwind CSS, CSS Modules, or CSS-in-JS
- Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright
- Experience with Git workflows, code reviews, and modern software development best practices
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, sprint planning, and technical leadership or people management is highly desirable
- Experience writing technical specifications, RFCs, and design documentation, and serving as a technical point of contact for stakeholders
- Understanding of web accessibility (WCAG), Core Web Vitals, SEO best practices, and frontend performance optimization
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, internationalization (i18n), monitoring tools (Sentry, Datadog, Cloud Logging), and design collaboration tools such as Figma is preferred
- Familiarity with modern frontend technologies including TanStack Query, Zustand, React Server Components, Streaming SSR, and Suspense is an advantage
