Chandler Macleod is seeking a trade-qualified Fitter to join an established industry leader specialising in truck-mounted cranes and mobile lifting solutions.
This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a practical, team-focused tradesperson looking to broaden their skills across mechanical fitting, hydraulics, fabrication, crane assembly and servicing.
While a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner is preferred, applications are also welcomed from Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Plant Mechanics and Boilermakers with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
The Opportunity
Working within a close-knit workshop team, you will primarily assist with assembling new truck-mounted cranes, along with maintenance and service work.
Tradespeople generally work collaboratively in small teams, with everyone contributing across the broader manufacturing and assembly process. You won’t be restricted to one discipline—the team is looking for someone open-minded, adaptable and willing to assist wherever needed.

- Mechanical fitting and assembly of new truck-mounted cranes
- Installing and working with hydraulic components and systems
- Completing maintenance, servicing and mechanical repairs
- Assisting with basic welding and fabrication work
- Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Working collaboratively with fitters, boilermakers and other trades
- Maintaining a safe, organised and productive workshop
About You
You will ideally have:
- A recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter and Turner, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or Boilermaker
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- An interest in learning hydraulics, welding and other trade disciplines
- A flexible attitude and willingness to contribute across all areas of the workshop
- A team-focused approach and strong work ethic
- A commitment to quality workmanship and safe work practices
