Our client, a leading consulting organisation partnering with a major Australian financial institution, is seeking an experienced Solution Designer to support a high-profile transformation program within a complex enterprise banking environment.

This role is ideal for a Solution Designer with strong Big-4 banking experience, deep knowledge of banking platforms, enterprise data ecosystems, and modern integration architectures.

About the Role

As a Solution Designer, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solution designs across applications, integrations, and enterprise data platforms. You will work closely with architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to define solution approaches, lead design discussions, and produce high-quality design artefacts that enable successful delivery.

A key focus of the role will be designing real-time integration solutions and API-led architectures across a sophisticated banking technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end solution designs that align with business and technology objectives.
• Lead solution discussions, design workshops, and technical walkthroughs with stakeholders.
• Produce detailed solution design documentation and implementation guidance.
• Define and implement API-led architecture patterns, including:
  • Experience APIs
  • Capability APIs
  • Information APIs
• Design RESTful APIs in line with enterprise governance standards, including:
  • Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
  • Naming conventions
  • API lifecycle management
• Design and document real-time integration solutions using:
  • API Gateways
  • Service Mesh technologies
  • ESB and Middleware platforms
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Kafka and messaging technologies
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Designer within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong end-to-end solution design capabilities across application, integration, and data domains.
• Knowledge of core banking systems, particularly VisionPLUS.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms and architectures, including:
  • ADAPT
  • DDEP
  • Data Mesh
• Strong expertise in API-led architecture and real-time integration design.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and enterprise integration solutions.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture principles and Kafka-based solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to facilitate solution workshops and influence technical design decisions.
