Principal Project Officer - Property Services

About the Company

The Department of Education's Infrastructure Services Division plays a vital role in delivering and managing the infrastructure that supports education across Queensland. Within the Property Services Unit, the Leasing, Tenure and Operational Services (LTOS) Team provides specialist expertise in property management, leasing, land tenure and strategic property agreements that enable schools and the department to meet current and future needs.


About the Role

An exciting temporary opportunity exists for an experienced property professional to join the Leasing, Tenure and Operational Services Team as a Principal Property Officer.

This is a strategic role responsible for providing high-level property advice and leading the negotiation, development and management of a broad range of property agreements, including leases, licences, deeds of agreement and joint development agreements.

Working across a diverse stakeholder landscape, you will:

• Lead the delivery of complex property and leasing programs.
• Negotiate and manage property agreements with government, private sector and community stakeholders.
• Provide strategic property and planning advice to support informed decision-making.
• Undertake due diligence, risk analysis and project management across property initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve leasing frameworks, reporting and property-related policies.
• Build strong working relationships across the department, government agencies, schools, legal services, local authorities, developers and community groups.

About You

You are an experienced property professional with strong commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality property advice and managing complex property matters.
• Strong knowledge of leasing, land tenure, property agreements and associated legislation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Well-developed analytical, research and report writing capabilities.
• The ability to identify risks, develop practical solutions and manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering positive outcomes.

Experience or qualifications in property, conveyancing, town planning, property law, leasing or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
