The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 11 & 12 Essential Mathematics Teacher to join an independent Special Assistance School supporting young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education.
In this role, you will deliver engaging and supportive mathematics education to senior secondary students, helping them remain engaged in their learning, work towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and prepare for future employment or further education and training.
You will work as part of a supportive team that takes a holistic approach to education, with a strong focus on student wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

The School
A not-for-profit organisation with more than 47 years of experience supporting communities through employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support and allied health services.
The school provides an alternative education program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. Students benefit from a supportive and safe learning environment, with access to vocational education and training (VET), work experience, and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
The dedicated team works closely with students to help them remain eligible for their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) while building employability and transferable skills and supporting positive pathways into employment, further training and education.

Role Requirements
- Relevant teaching qualification
- Full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland
- Ability to teach within the Queensland secondary education curriculum, with experience or capability in Essential Mathematics
- Strong understanding of the needs of young people who may be disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education
- Strong communication, relationship-building and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their educational and career goals
