  • Work closely with engineering, procurement and construction teams to gather project inputs and validate assumptions.

  • Develop pricing models, estimating methodologies and cost databases to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

  • Perform value engineering assessments to identify potential cost savings while maintaining project requirements and quality.

  • Conduct project risk assessments and establish appropriate estimating contingencies.

  • Evaluate contractor, subcontractor and supplier pricing to support competitive project costs.

  • Present estimates, assumptions, risks and value engineering opportunities to project stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Track project costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle and update estimates as scope, design and market conditions evolve.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and construction approaches and assess their potential impact on project costs.

  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior estimators.

  • Ensure estimating activities comply with applicable company standards, processes and industry best practices.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of project estimating experience, ideally involving conceptual engineering and project design.

  • Experience supporting utility-scale energy, renewable energy, power generation, transmission or other major infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment and project execution.

  • Experience with value engineering, cost management and project risk assessment.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and other technical project documentation.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, procurement, construction and project management teams.

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years of project estimating experience.

  • Master's or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline.

  • Two or more years of field engineering or construction management experience.

  • Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification.

  • Experience with estimating platforms such as PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX or similar tools.

  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

  • Previous estimating experience across renewable generation, battery storage, transmission, substations or conventional power generation.
