Finance Controller

As a Financial Controller, you will own all aspects of financial reporting, financial operations and controllership including analyzing risks, implementing controls and managing finance operation. This person will also conduct various projects while executing monthly close activities including validation and reconciliation of accounts and systems, fluxes analysis and data, and preparation of reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

What you will do

• Oversight monthly closing while preparing and reviewing reconciliations and accounting entries
• Driving overall design of controls, narratives, mapping flow, and guidance for best practices needed for the company’s financial and business controls
• Maintaining documents subject to SOX and guidance, comprehensive work papers and audit trail, and drive annual and quarterly assurance process
• Preparing or improving certain policies and procedures to properly govern the company and make each department functions in the best possible way by partnering with the other applicable departments
• Work closely with the US headquarters to conduct various projects

Requirements

What we look for

• Minimum 7 years of both hands-on experience in accounting and audit experience, Big 4 experience preferred
• Good working knowledge in governance, including risk assessment, control establishment, policy implementation and flowchart documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide cross-section of the company team and external auditors
• Independent, self-starter willing to think outside of the box
• English and Japanese language skills – both oral and written
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• A strong understanding of Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (JGAAP) or US GAAP
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to details
• Team management experience is preferred, but not necessary
