Job Summary
Are you a mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented individual looking to grow your skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment? We’re seeking a Brake Press Operator to join our team in Byron Center. In this role, you’ll play a key part in producing high‑quality metal components that support our company’s mission of delivering precision‑engineered products.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Brake Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Machine Setup & Operation — Set up and operate various Brake Press machines to bend, form, and shape metal components with accuracy and efficiency.
- Blueprint & Measurement Interpretation — Read and interpret blueprints while using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and 360‑degree protractors to ensure exact specifications.
- Quality & Program Adjustments — Inspect finished parts, make basic program adjustments when needed, and maintain consistent quality throughout production.
In addition, you will also be expected to work with a sense of urgency, maintain a clean and safe work area, and support continuous improvement efforts.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Experience operating and setting up brake press machines
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and bending processes
- Proficiency with measuring tools and quality inspections
- Ability to work required overtime: currently M–F 10‑hour shifts + 5‑hour Saturdays.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machine settings.
- Commitment to safety and manufacturing standards.
- Basic math and mechanical aptitude
