About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position sits within a small, professional and highly collaborative finance team. While the team is supportive and approachable, the role itself is quite autonomous, requiring someone comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities and working independently to ensure the accurate and timely management of the AP function.
A key part of this position is building relationships across the broader operations team – you’ll regularly liaise with stakeholders to follow up on purchase orders, resolve queries and keep things moving. This is not a role where you can sit behind emails – you’ll need to be confident picking up the phone or walking over to speak with people to get outcomes.
- Processing accounts payable invoices, supplier statements and reconciliations
- Preparing and managing EFT payment runs
- Supporting month-end activities including expense accruals and basic general ledger reconciliations
- Completing bank reconciliations, cash receipting, transfers and transaction postings
- Acting as a key point of contact for suppliers and managing queries
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting alongside the broader finance team
- Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as they arise
- Acting as the first point of contact for the invoice processing system
- Working across ERP systems such as Pronto
This role is currently based in Newstead, with offices relocating to the Port of Brisbane area in approximately six months.
About You
You’re an experienced Accounts Payable professional who enjoys being part of a close-knit team but is equally comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in an end to end Accounts Payable role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Intermediate Excel skills and exposure to ERP systems - you'll embrace and champion technology
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive mindset – you’re happy to pick up the phone or speak face-to-face to resolve issues
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
