Loader Master

Mergent Group is seeking an experienced Loading Master to support LNG marine operations in Gladstone, Queensland.

This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the safe berthing, mooring, loading and departure of LNG carriers while ensuring compliance with operational, safety and environmental requirements. The Loading Master will work closely with vessel crews, terminal personnel, port authorities and shipping agents to ensure efficient cargo transfer operations and vessel turnaround.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise LNG vessel berthing, mooring and unberthing activities.
• Coordinate pre-arrival planning and ship/shore communications.
• Conduct pre-loading meetings, safety inspections and ESD testing.
• Monitor loading operations, loading rates and cargo transfer activities.
• Coordinate with terminal control rooms, pilots, agents and port authorities.
• Issue cargo documentation and maintain operational records.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and client requirements.

About You

• Marine qualification (Master Class I or Chief Officer Certificate of Competency preferred).
• Experience in LNG, bulk cargo, tanker or marine terminal operations.
• Strong understanding of vessel loading, mooring and port operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in marine operational systems and Microsoft Office.
• Current Driver Licence and ability to obtain and maintain an MSIC.
• Must have the right to work in Australia
