About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of the Blacksmith Project from Perth. This role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end contract and procurement activities, with a particular focus on construction works and services, capital procurement, and pre- and post-award contract management. Working closely with project, commercial and technical stakeholders, you will help deliver commercially robust outcomes while managing risk, optimising value and ensuring contracts are effectively awarded, administered and closed out.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of the Blacksmith Project from Perth. This role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end contract and procurement activities, with a particular focus on construction works and services, capital procurement, and pre- and post-award contract management. Working closely with project, commercial and technical stakeholders, you will help deliver commercially robust outcomes while managing risk, optimising value and ensuring contracts are effectively awarded, administered and closed out.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, coordination, evaluation and execution of tender packages for construction contracts, equipment and services.
- Prepare tender and contract documentation, including commercial terms, pricing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing and commercial conditions to align with project schedules, budgets and risk profiles.
- Prepare contract award recommendations and documentation for internal approvals and execution.
- Manage contracts through the post-award lifecycle, including contract administration, claims, payment assessments, correspondence and close-out.
- Monitor contractor performance and support the resolution of commercial and contractual issues.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers across multiple work packages.
- Identify and manage commercial risks while supporting project objectives and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to effective procurement strategies and commercially sound project outcomes.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project contracting and procurement within mining, infrastructure, oil & gas or similar industries.
- Experience working across Civils, NPI, SMP and/or EIC packages.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, administration and claims management.
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, project delivery models and commercial risk allocation.
- Experience supporting the full procurement and contracting lifecycle from tender through to close-out.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and commercially sound documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- A proactive, accountable and outcome-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a high-performing project team.
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
