Construction Safety Specialist (ONSITE)

Construction Safety Specialist (ONSITE) needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Staffing’s client working in Newark, OH.

• Pay Rate: $45-55/hr
• ONSITE

What You’ll Be Doing:

• This position will be based in Newark and will be responsible for overseeing construction safety for the Newark Expansion Project. The expected work schedule will be 50 hours per week, structured as 10 hours per day over 5 working days. The new hire will report to the HSEQ lead we have on site The person will be most of his time outside overlooking the works.
• Conducting regular site safety observations.
• Identifying potential safety hazards during site activities.
• Check the areas where hot work is being executed and make sure all is done as per permit
• Primary contact between Plant safety and Project safety
• Reviewing Contractor safety plans and facilitate reviewing with site and project
• Verifying that contractor personnel is trained before starting the job
• Noted hazards and corrective actions
• Detailed documentation of any incidents
• Root cause analysis and recommended preventive measures
• Regular site inspections
• Daily or weekly safety briefings
• Emergency Preparedness Plans
• Monitoring and enforcement of proper PPE usage
• Weekly/Monthly Safety Performance Reports
• Trends and recommendations for improvement

Required:

• OSHA certificates (OSHA 30, OSHA 10, 29 CFR 1910).
• Communication, active site presence and experience with master tag reviews
• 5-10 years of relevant experience
