Job Description:
Die Cast Press is growing and seeking a responsible, innovative CNC/Lathe Machinist with strong machining knowledge, solid shop‑math skills, and a passion for CNC work. This role is ideal for someone energetic, focused, and able to perform under deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. You must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
What You’ll Do
- Program mills and lathes, including zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
- Perform calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Prove part programs and verify accuracy
- Set up mills and lathes, including three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
- Indicate vises and tram heads
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, orthographic drawings, and GD&T
- Plan machining processes and understand materials and specifications
- Monitor and manage stock inventory, place orders, and verify received materials
- Perform drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing
- Take precise measurements and maintain part specifications
- Troubleshoot machining processes and adjust or reprogram controls as needed
- Sharpen and replace worn tools
- Follow quality assurance procedures
- Perform preventative maintenance and follow manufacturer guidelines
- Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary
- Handle deburring from start to finish
- Maintain quality control of parts throughout the entire process

- Bore Gages
- Calipers
- Micrometers (outside, inside, depth)
- Dial Indicators
- Gage Blocks
- CMMs
- Roundness Gages
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years machining experience
- Ability to understand and perform basic setups
- Experience working in a fast‑paced machining environment
- Must have your own tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
- Ability to multi‑task effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
