Consultant Occupational Therapist – Westmeath

FRS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Consultant Occupational Therapist to join a service supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Co. Westmeath.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with a strong clinical background and a genuine interest in supporting individuals to develop their independence, participation and quality of life.

The Role

  • Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and identify individual client needs.

  • Develop, implement and oversee tailored treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.

  • Carry out physical assessments and complete appropriate risk assessments.

  • Advise families on treatment approaches, therapeutic strategies and specialist equipment.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GDPR and clinical governance requirements.

  • Monitor client progress, coordinate discharges and provide regular service updates to management.

  • Deliver a high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy service in a social care setting.

Requirements

  • A recognised third-level degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Full registration with CORU.

  • A minimum of 3 years' paid experience working as an Occupational Therapist.

  • A strong interest in working with individuals with ASD and intellectual disabilities.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.

  • Experience managing clinical records and developing individualised treatment plans.

  • Knowledge of Occupational Therapy practices within social care settings.

  • A self-motivated approach with a commitment to high clinical standards.

  • Satisfactory Garda vetting.
