The Opportunity
Our client, a leading financial services client with a global footprint, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their high-impact Analytics and CRM team. This role is a cornerstone of their digital transformation, tasked with designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytics and Generative AI solutions. You will be part of a dynamic regional group of data scientists and engineers dedicated to unlocking growth, managing risk, and driving operational efficiency through intelligent data usage.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End ML Development: Lead the complete lifecycle of machine learning solutions, including problem framing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
- GenAI Innovation: Design and implement cutting-edge Generative AI solutions, focusing on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), prompt engineering, and the development of agentic workflows.
- AI Engineering: Build scalable AI components and data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise-grade data platforms and model-serving patterns.
- Evaluation & Monitoring: Develop robust testing harnesses and evaluation pipelines for both traditional ML and LLM-based systems, including regression testing and drift monitoring.
- Responsible AI: Apply governance practices such as explainability, bias/fairness considerations, and rigorous documentation to meet control testing standards.
- Stakeholder Advisory: Partner with product owners and engineers to translate complex business needs into technical roadmaps and drive organizational adoption.
- Technical Mentorship: Guide junior team members through code reviews and the implementation of best practices in engineering and experimentation.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Programming Mastery: Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- ML Fundamentals: Deep understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
- GenAI Expertise: Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems, embeddings, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph).
- MLOps & Engineering: Experience building production-grade data pipelines, utilizing CI/CD, orchestration, and model packaging for scalable environments.
- Cloud Platforms: Proven ability to deploy solutions within GCP or Azure cloud ecosystems.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience within Financial Services or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with AI governance, model risk management, and responsible AI control frameworks.
- Experience with distributed data processing (e.g., Spark) and managing large-scale unstructured datasets.
- Hands-on use of MLOps tooling such as MLflow, feature stores, and model registries.
