Low Voltage Installation Technician  | Appleton, WI

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of low-voltage systems, including voice and data, fiber optics, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), security, access control, wireless systems, and nurse call. Apply now!

Responsibilities:

  • Pull, terminate, dress, label, test, and troubleshoot CAT5e/CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
  • Test installed copper and fiber cabling using Fluke or similar testers
  • Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, etc.
  • Perform fiber optic installation, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Install and support voice/data, DAS, security, access control, wireless, nurse call, CCTV, and audio/visual systems
  • Punch down voice and data jacks
  • Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
  • Read and interpret blueprints/system layouts
  • Install and support access control, CCTV, audio visual, and fiber optic systems

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial low voltage experience
  • Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, voice/data, security, or related low-voltage systems
  • Fiber optic installation, termination, splicing, testing, or troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications, data networks, cabling, connectivity, and related hardware/software
  • BICSI, PMP, lift, and OSHA certifications are a plus
  • Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
  • Working knowledge of telecom and data networks
  • Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Wisconsin as needed
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting, climbing 6'+ ladders/lifts, overhead and tight-space work, cable pulling, and frequent local/out-of-state travel as needed
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
