Apply directThe Injury Counselor will be responsible for knowledge of workers' compensation claims handling and procedures for a variety of jurisdictions throughout the United States. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment and is comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Branch Offices to ensure all Nesco Resource claims paperwork is completed for all claims and that all Nurseline procedures are followed.
- Input and maintain current workers compensation claim information in the internal risk management software system and monitor the claims management systems of the third-party administrators (TPA) and managed care organizations (MCO).
- Daily correspondence with Nesco Resource branches to include but not limited to:
- Completion of Nesco Resource injury packet
- Ongoing treatment and follow-ups
- Assisting with transitional duty assignments and return to work processes
- Managing a variety of additional workers' compensation related issues
- Daily correspondence with TPA adjusters and MCO adjusters regarding:
- Employee information
- Authorization and direction of medical treatment plans
- Compliance with transitional duty assignment and return to work process
- Evaluation of claim resolution options.
- Daily correspondence with medical providers to include but not limited to:
- Monitor treatment plans along with approved treatment
- Obtaining medical documentation on each claim
- Determination of workers' compensation claim compensability
- Participation in all claim reviews
- Assist with creation of new forms/documents to help with the flow and management of workers' compensation claims.
- Coordination with Risk and Safety Team in the promotion of Loss Control strategies
- Complies with all Company safety guidelines and processes. Reports known safety issues, including near misses, accidents and potential concerns to the Risk and Safety Department
Professional Skills/Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree accredited university preferred, or equal years of experience.
- Demonstrated success in in a fast-paced environment
- Communicative team player that is very detail oriented and has outstanding interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a complex environment
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
- Strong computer skills preferably in a PC environment
