Assoc, Shipping - OEM

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure the accuracy of all outgoing orders for both our internal and external customers with regard to product, paperwork, and packaging prior to shipment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preforms visual verification to ensure parts and quantity are correct
• Appropriately addresses any packaging requirements / flow down
• Ensures appropriate shipping package is used
• Prepares all 3rd party (UPS, FedEx, LTL) packages for shipment
• Prepares all bulk packing for intercompany transfer and deliveries
• Maintains shipping production based on route shipping schedules and expectations
• Maintains Shipping Error Log (Under the Quality Management System), then notify appropriate supervisor
• During the shipping process, verifies the appropriate product allocation and troubleshoot any allocation issues
• Operate the picker & fork lift
• Maintains clean workstations (including neat and organized) based off our Quality Standards
• Follows OSHA standards and product safety, following FOD
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management if needing assistance
• Assists in other functions of the Warehouse as necessary

• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have thorough knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures and product.
• Handles difficult situations; Responds promptly and appropriately to requests for service and assistance.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC literate with a good working knowledge of Windows and P21 Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
