Quality Engineer

Salary circa £40,000+ | Bonus | 1pm Finish Friday | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

A Quality Engineer opportunity has become available with an established engineering manufacturer supplying precision components into highly regulated and customer-driven industries. Quality plays a critical role throughout the business, with the successful individual supporting site-wide compliance, driving continuous improvement activities and working closely with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve quality concerns. This position would suit an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys taking a hands-on, collaborative approach to improving manufacturing quality.

Quality Engineer responsibilities include –

• Leading 8D investigations using structured root cause analysis techniques to implement effective corrective actions.
• Working closely with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and prevent repeat issues.
• Supporting and improving the Business Management System in line with customer requirements.
• Conducting internal and process audits whilst supporting customer and third-party audit activities.
• Driving continuous improvement, scrap reduction and process improvement projects with measurable results.

Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience –

• Previous experience working within a Quality Engineer position in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of quality management systems including AS9100, ISO 9001 and ideally IATF 16949.
• Proven experience leading full 8D investigations using Fishbone (Ishikawa) and other problem solving techniques.
