We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our food manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting purchasing operations, maintaining accurate records, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies. The candidate must be computer literate, proficient in Excel, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain and update purchasing records, pricing, and vendor information
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and discrepancies
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment of raw materials and supplies
- Verify invoices, packing slips, and receiving documents for accuracy
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and accounting departments to ensure smooth operations
- Track shipments and follow up on delayed orders
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative purchasing tasks
- Maintain organized filing systems and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and food manufacturing standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous purchasing, inventory, or administrative experience preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing or distribution industry is a plus
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
