ICT Assets Officer – Contract (6 months) | Local Government

Public Sector People are partnering with a Sydney local council in Western Sydney to recruit an experienced Senior ICT Assets Officer for an immediate 6 months contract.

This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and community-focused organisation that plays a vital role in supporting a diverse and growing local government area. Working within a collaborative ICT team, you will help ensure the effective management, accuracy and compliance of ICT assets that underpin essential council services.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate ICT asset records and supporting best-practice asset management across the organisation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure assets are tracked, compliant and aligned with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain ICT asset registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Support asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment and disposal
  • Track IT hardware, software and licensing to ensure compliance and cost control
  • Use asset management systems and tools to report and analyse asset data
  • Collaborate with ICT and business teams to support operational priorities
  • Assist with audits, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
Do you have:
  • Proven experience in ICT asset management, inventory control or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of asset management best practices, including lifecycle management and compliance
  • Understanding of IT hardware, software and licensing concepts
  • Experience using asset management software and tools
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Local government experience would be a bonus
