BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The MSC OEM Team is committed to developing real production fastener solutions for our customers. This is achieved by providing them with custom engineering support, valuable product insights, and a global portfolio of suppliers. This position serves as the primary contact between the Sales, Sourcing, Purchasing, Quality and Operations departments ensuring timely and smooth setup of new OEM customers. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory levels, implementing controls for customer inventory management, and accurately placing purchase orders. Attention to detail and adherence to the Purchasing Guidelines outlined by the MSC OEM Purchasing Department are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Centralizes the Materials activities for new accounts and provides Sales, Operations, Quality and VMI a single point of contact to work through issues that arise.
· Monitors, confirms and reports that all items are created with the part create team.
· Evaluates new OEM customer programs to ensure all Item Plan items are accounted for and places respective purchase orders.
· Works with suppliers on items that need to be re-quoted due to new details.
· Reviews the Purchase Order Requirements/Generation report (PORG) to determine items that need to be purchased, places purchase orders and expedites as needed.
· Reviews the Open PO report to determine items that need to have the delivery date(s) updated and expedites as needed.
· Sourcing and purchasing next-day, 2nd day and other emergency orders. Complete ownership of these orders from entry, PO, expediting to proof-of-delivery.
· Spot Buys: Source and purchase out-of-stock items to fulfill customer needs. Determine the best solution based on availability to deliver to customer.
· Works cross-functionally with our Sales, Sourcing, Operations and Quality teams to ensure customer needs and expectations are met.
· Reviews min/max replenishment levels and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure proper inventory levels are met.
· Expedites parts, PO's and any other paperwork that are not scheduled to arrive on time.
· Identifies and assists in disposition of slow and obsolete inventory.
· Ensures all established costs and delivery commitments are met.
· Works with Sales to review actual vs anticipated usage post New OEM Account launch and adjusts min/max replenishment levels.
· Monitors and forecasts incoming inventory receipts and inventory levels.
· Enforces quality standards, inventory levels, and purchasing procedures with suppliers.
· Responds promptly to both internal and external customer needs.
· Manage projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met.
· Support and monitor all procurement activities for adherence to internal and external policy and procedures.
· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
· Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS What You Need:
· Bachelor's Degree or two years of relevant purchasing experience required. · Minimum five years' Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain experience required. · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and in professional manner both verbally and in writing. · Ability to determine and problem solve through challenges and obstacles, as well as negotiate and persuade to Get to Yes. · Organized and detail minded to document and stay on track with processes, to follow up with all associated parties. · Must have a strong sense of urgency to keep a steady pulse on moving forward with projects, processes, and deadlines. · Ability to organize competing tasks and responsibilities and accomplish goals and meet deadlines · Ability to analyze and develop solutions to problems. · Mindset of integrity for best practices and for being a professional in manner and demeanor. · Strong mathematical skills. · Proficient and adept in Microsoft Excel as well as Prophet 21 ERP. Bonus Points If You Have: · Degree area of study preferably in Business, Finance, or Engineering. · Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain experience preferred. · CPIM/CSCP APICS certification preferred. Other Requirements: · A valid driver's license may be required. · Position requires up to 5% of travel

Compensation starting at $60,000 - $91,080 depending on candidate location and experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
