IT Project Manager

Overview

Client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives from business case development through production release, hypercare, and transition to IT operations. This role requires strong ITIL process deployment and stabilization experience, end-to-end project management ownership, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, vendors, compliance reviews, and conflicting stakeholder priorities.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead complex IT projects from initial business case and charter development through implementation, production release, hypercare, and operational transition.
• Define project problem statements, scope, timelines, costs, benefits, dependencies, teams, stakeholders, and current-state and future-state process maps.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, project governance materials, management operating systems, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings, tollgate reviews, status meetings, and project workshops.
• Manage project execution to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and according to quality expectations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors supporting requirements, development, testing, deployment, and production implementation.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, mitigation plans, and scope changes.
• Complete required information security, architecture, compliance, and governance reviews.
• Establish, deploy, and stabilize ITIL processes supporting IT platforms and operational teams.
• Define and track project and operational KPIs.
• Oversee vendor engagement, deliverables, performance, and project dependencies.
• Maintain project information within the Client's IT project portfolio management tool.
• Prepare and deliver presentations tailored to technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops while maintaining clear objectives, scope, and outcomes.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

• Experience leading complex IT projects with responsibility for timeline, cost, quality, scope, risks, and delivery.
• Experience deploying and stabilizing ITIL processes.
• End-to-end IT project management experience, from business case development through production implementation and operational transition.
• Experience with Client IT projects and systems.
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and technical delivery teams.
• Experience supporting requirements, development, testing, production deployment, and hypercare activities.
• Experience with project governance, tollgates, information security reviews, architecture reviews, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to quickly assume leadership of projects involving unfamiliar technologies or processes.
• Ability to manage conflicting stakeholder demands and resolve project risks and issues.
• Strong presentation, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Work Details

• Largely remote role with occasional onsite workshops in Atlanta, Georgia.
• Initial 3-month contract.
• Potential contract extension based on business needs.
• Parking and badge access will be provided for onsite visits.
