The team at Davidson Technology Consulting are seeking an experienced Business Solution Analyst / Technical Business Analyst to support a major Retention & Decommissioning stream within a complex Financial Services environment.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in a Brisbane city fringe location, with a hybrid working model requiring 4 days onsite per week.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Solution Architect, business stakeholders and delivery teams to translate retention and decommissioning requirements into clear, practical and implementable solution detail.
The role will suit someone who can operate across business, technology and governance teams, bringing structure to complex requirements, maintaining traceability, and ensuring decommissioning activities are clearly documented, sequenced and supported by the right evidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate retention and decommissioning requirements into implementable solution detail.
- Work closely with the Solution Architect to support solution definition and delivery alignment.
- Maintain traceability from contractual and governance obligations through to solution outcomes and decommissioning evidence.
- Define and manage process and data artefacts needed for retention and decommissioning execution.
- Prepare inputs for governance, controls, sign-offs and certification activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure sequencing, controls and certification activities are understood and scheduled.
- Support stakeholder workshops, requirement clarification and documentation reviews.
- Identify risks, issues, dependencies and gaps impacting retention or decommissioning delivery.
About You
You will bring strong analysis experience from a Financial Services or regulated environment, ideally with exposure to banking, transformation, migration, integration or decommissioning programs.
You will be comfortable working across both business and technology stakeholders and have a strong focus on documentation, traceability and delivery governance.
Can start with no more than 2 weeks notice and comfortable with working 4 days onsite / in office.
Required Experience
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Business Solutions Analyst or similar.
- Experience in Financial Services, preferably retail banking.
- Exposure to banking products or domains such as deposits, loans, mortgages, cards or payments.
- Experience translating business requirements into solution-ready detail.
- Strong documentation skills across requirements, process flows, artefacts, traceability and governance inputs.
- Experience working with solution architects, delivery teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills across business, technology and vendor teams.
- Ability to work in a structured, controlled and delivery-focused environment.
Experience in the following would be highly regarded:
- Experience with data retention, archival, historical data access or decommissioning.
- Experience in migration, separation, divestment, transformation or legacy platform retirement programs.
- Exposure to governance obligations, controls, sign-offs or certification activities.
- Experience in complex banking or regulated environments
