About the role
Build your career with an award-winning boutique law practice, working closely with esteemed Partners and highly experienced practitioners on a broad range of litigation matters including commercial litigation, media and defamation law, employment, insurance disputes and other complex disputes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented commercial litigation lawyer to enjoy direct client exposure and independently manage matters from commencement through to resolution with a leading firm.

Duties
In this role, you will:-
  • Advise and act on a wide variety of stimulating, complex and interesting litigation matters 
  • Work autonomously alongside highly experienced Partners on matters involving contractual disputes, advisory work, pre-litigation strategy, pleadings, evidence preparation, interlocutory applications, mediation and court appearances  
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, advice, affidavits, witness statements, briefs to counsel and court documents 
  • Develop and provide litigation strategy and practical, commercial and client-focused solutions
  • Support &/or instruct at mediations, settlement negotiations and court proceedings 
  • Contribute to a collaborative, hardworking and high-performing team environment

Skills & experience
The ideal candidate will have:- 

  • 3-5 years' PQE in commercial litigation matters
  • Exposure to insurance, defamation, employment matters/disputes (highly regarded)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and client-centric approach
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Willingness to contribute to team growth and share knowledge 
  • Ability to work effectively in a relaxed yet professional environment
  • Sound technical ability with excellent drafting and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to network and market with the view to generating clients
