Apply directOur client, a leading food manufacturing company based in West Cork, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join their Engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking for a secure, long-term role within a modern production environment. The position offers either a day shift schedule or a rotating morning/evening shift pattern, depending on the site.
What You Will Do
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise production downtime
- Maintain motors, sensors, control panels, drives, and automated machinery
- Support machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Complete maintenance records and assist with spare parts management
- Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with recognised trade certification
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or food production environments
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, and control systems
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and electrical best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
