Barker Ross are looking for a highly organised and commercially aware Supply Chain & Procurement Assistant to join a growing food and drink business in Nottingham.
Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, you will support the day-to-day purchasing and supply chain operation, including managing purchase orders, monitoring stock levels, working with suppliers and supporting new product launches.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working with data, enjoys solving problems and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Key duties include:
- Raising, monitoring and managing purchase orders across multiple suppliers
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting product availability
- Liaising with suppliers regarding lead times, production, deliveries and supply issues
- Comparing suppliers, products and costs to identify savings and efficiencies
- Supporting forecasting, stock planning and supply chain reporting
- Sourcing new ingredients, packaging and finished products
- Supporting the launch and onboarding of new products with retail partners
- Maintaining accurate supplier, purchasing and product records
- Supporting website product listings and product information
- Working closely with sales, marketing, product development and operations teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase efficiency

About You
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' experience within supply chain, procurement, purchasing or inventory management.
You will need:
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal teams
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of tasks
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Desirable experience includes:
- FMCG, food & drink, retail or consumer goods
- Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets
- Shopify
- Managing stock across multiple suppliers and product ranges
- Demand forecasting or supplier negotiation
- Retailer product onboarding
