Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Project Manager to support the successful delivery of business process improvement and operational change initiatives.


This role plays an important part in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. The successful candidate will lead project teams, coordinate stakeholders, manage risks, and drive project execution from planning through implementation. Initially a 12 month contract term, this role will work on long term projects and has the potential for future extensions or permanent opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Lead low to medium complexity business process change projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may impact scope, schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Coordinate project activities across internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including action logs, communication plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Track project benefits and performance against established objectives.
  • Support change management and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize project management tools and Microsoft Office applications to support project planning, reporting, and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management and/or contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business process improvement, operational change, or similar projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience developing project plans, schedules, risk registers, and status reporting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using project management software and tools.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • PMP designation is considered an asset.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, typically up to two times per year.

Remuneration

  • $63/hr contract rate
