The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with an experienced senior practitioner, you will enjoy significant responsibility and autonomy, managing your own files and building strong client relationships while continuing to receive mentorship and support. The role offers a diverse mix of property and commercial work, with approximately 60% property and 40% commercial matters.
Property matters include
- Commercial property transactions
- Property development projects
- Sales and acquisitions
- Leasing matters
- Green energy projects
- Strata Titles Act matters
- Contaminated Sites matters
- Due diligence and advisory work
Commercial matters include
- Sale and purchase of businesses
- Asset sale and purchase agreements
- Commercial contracts
- Terms and conditions
- Licence agreements
You will also have exposure to wills and estates matters, including
- Drafting wills and trust documents
- Probate applications
- Estate administration matters
The Candidate
- Ideally 5+ years PAE in property and general commercial law
- Outstanding candidates with slightly less experience will also be considered
- Strong experience in property law; candidates with predominantly property-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Ability to work independently and confidently manage files from commencement through to completion
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients and identifying practical solutions to their needs
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, dynamic and receptive to feedback
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest, hardworking and focused on delivering quality outcomes
- Keen to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
