Quantity Surveyor

V7 Recruitment are seeking a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading regional contractor delivering high-quality projects across healthcare, education, hotels, apartments and commercial sectors. The first project will be based in either Manchester or Preston with further opportunities across the North West.

  The ideal candidate:
  
  
• A main contractor background is preferable
  
  
• Has experience working on large-scale new-build construction projects
  
  
• Is commercially minded, proactive and confident managing subcontract packages
  
  
• Has strong knowledge of procurement, tender processes, valuations, variations and final accounts
  
  
• Can build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams
  
  
• Is happy to work on sites across the North West
  
  
• Holds a degree or HNC-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  
  
• Has strong organisational, communication and negotiation skills
  
  
• Is keen to develop their career within a supportive and people-focused business
  
  
• 
  Duties will include:
  
  
• Managing subcontract trade packages from procurement through to final account
  
  
• Procuring materials and subcontractors and preparing tender documentation for subcontract works
  
  
• Managing project and work packages, monitoring commercial performance and identifying risks
  
  
• Preparing valuations, subcontractor payments, variations, cost reports and final accounts
  
  
• Monitoring cash flow and maintaining accurate commercial records
  
  
• Attending internal project meetings, client meetings and progress meetings
  
  
• Providing commercial and contractual support to site teams
  
  
• Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal colleagues
  
  
• Supporting and mentoring Trainee and Assistant Quantity Surveyors where required
