The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a Quality Inspector  to work at a company located in the Grass Lake, MI area!

Job Title: Quality Inspector 
 
Job Location: Grass Lake, MI
 
Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $24-$26/hr (Depending on Experience Level)
First Shift: 5am-3:30pm, Monday through Saturday (Hours may vary; Sundays as needed)
 
Job Description: The JobSquad is searching for a responsible and experienced Quality Inspector; for verifying prototype and production first-piece products, as well as conducting in-process and final inspections. This role ensures all manufacturing outputs meet strict structural, aesthetic, and engineering standards across plate processing, welding/fabrication, and paint operations. 
 
                                    
Responsibilities:
 
  1. Conducts first-piece, in-process, and final inspections for all prototype and production runs. 
  2. Verify raw materials dimensions, laser/plasma cuts, and formed parts against engineering prints. 
  3. Inspect welding and structural fabrication using both destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. 
  4. Conduct visual and technical inspections of paint application, checking for thickness, adhesion, and Class A surface defects. 
  5. Operate precision checking fixtures, calipers, micrometers, length scales, torque wrenches, and load testers. 
  6. Complete all required quality logs, inspection paperwork, and compliance documentation accurately. 
  7. Utilize barcode scanners and digital inventory systems to track and determine product acceptability. 
  8. Propose constructive adjustments to daily workflows to enhance production quality and efficiency. 
  9. Maintains cleanliness in designated workspaces and strictly adhere to the company quality policy. 
  10. Perform other duties as assigned, including providing backup operator coverage in production areas if required. 
  11. Work overtime as needed based on workload demands, which may include weekdays, and weekends. 
 
Qualifications:
 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Ability to read linear prints and accurately interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols. 
  3. Proficiency in operating basic measurement equipment and applying basic mathematics/calculator operations. 
  4. Ability to visually inspect Class A or high-polished panels for micro-defects. 
  5. Solid understanding of prototype stamping, welding assemblies, and checking fixtures. 
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors. 
  7. 2+ years of previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. 
  8. Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings.
