Aviation Finance Associate (2–4 PQE) – Leading International Law Firm

About the Opportunity
A leading international law firm is seeking an Aviation Finance Associate (2–4 PQE) to join its highly regarded Aviation Finance practice in Hong Kong.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-profile aircraft financing and leasing transactions for a client base spanning airlines, lessors, banks, and financial institutions across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. The practice advises on the full spectrum of aviation finance work, including operating leases, secured lending, JOLCO and ECA-backed financings, portfolio transactions, and restructurings.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Support partners on complex, cross-border aircraft financing and leasing transactions, acting for lessors, airlines, banks, and financiers.
• Draft, negotiate, and review key transaction documents, including loan agreements, lease agreements, security documentation, and related ancillary agreements.
• Assist on aircraft portfolio acquisitions, sale-and-leaseback transactions, and asset-backed financings.
• Support restructuring and enforcement matters, including lease defaults and aircraft repossessions.
• Conduct due diligence and coordinate with local and overseas counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Liaise directly with clients, including banks, leasing companies, airlines, and other financial institutions.

 
Candidate Requirements

• 2 to 4 years' PQE, ideally with direct aviation finance experience.
• Candidates without aviation finance experience but with strong banking and finance experience, particularly with exposure to financing transactions, are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong technical and drafting skills.
• Commercially minded and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive, dedicated, and willing to take ownership of work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career in aviation finance.
