Marketing & Communications Specialist | Immediate Start
This is a hands‑on marketing and communications role with a strong focus on event marketing and member communications.
You’ll step into a portfolio with established campaigns and processes in place, and take ownership of driving engagement, attendance, and visibility across a high volume of events and content streams.
This role is well suited to someone who can get up to speed quickly, manage competing deadlines, and work independently while staying connected to a broader team.

- 6‑month fixed term contract
- $100,000 – $110,000 + super
- Sydney CBD | Hybrid (2 days in office: Tuesday & Thursday)
- 8:30am – 5:30pm
This is a hands‑on marketing and communications role with a strong focus on event marketing and member communications.
You’ll step into a portfolio with established campaigns and processes in place, and take ownership of driving engagement, attendance, and visibility across a high volume of events and content streams.
This role is well suited to someone who can get up to speed quickly, manage competing deadlines, and work independently while staying connected to a broader team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead marketing for a busy events program, including 6 major events and a broad calendar of smaller sessions
- Develop and execute EDM campaigns to drive registrations, engagement and attendance
- Manage newsletters, including a fortnightly events campaign and weekly member bulletin
- Coordinate external communications across campaigns, content and thought leadership
- Work closely with social media and digital teams to amplify campaigns across channels
- Support paid social campaigns focused on lead generation and event outcomes
- Update website content in line with campaigns and best practice UX principles
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and volunteer committees to source and shape content
- Track and report on campaign performance, including open rates, click throughs and registrations
- Support event branding and on‑site materials where required
- Ability to start in this role immediately
- 3+ years’ experience in marketing and communications within a fast‑paced environment focusing on events
- Strong experience building and delivering EDM campaigns (Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or similar)
- Comfortable using Campaign Monitor (or similar), Canva, MS Suite and SharePoint, with exposure to AI tools (eg Claude) beneficial
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and high volumes of work
- Experience marketing events (not delivery), with a clear understanding of engagement and conversion metrics
- Confident working with stakeholders and contributors at all levels
- Strong writing, editing and attention to detail
- Proactive, accountable and comfortable working independently
- Collaborative and willing to support broader team priorities
