The Company:

We are working with an established manufacturing business in County Durham who are looking to recruit a Digital Print & Texture Technician into their specialist digital print operation.

This is an unusual opportunity combining digital print, artwork and prepress skills with hands-on manufacturing and process development.

The business would be particularly interested in speaking with people from digital printing, prepress, packaging, coatings, laminates, flooring or other surface-finishing environments.

Job Description:

As Digital Print & Texture Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up and optimising digital texture files before they are transferred into production.

The Digital Print & Texture Technician will work with Adobe Creative Suite and RIP software to prepare artwork and ensure files are production ready, alongside supporting the setup and calibration of the manufacturing process.

You will monitor print quality, texture depth, registration, coating weights and other production parameters, investigating issues and making adjustments where required.

The Digital Print & Texture Technician will also support new product and texture trials, working closely with production, design, technical and quality teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating, modifying and optimising digital texture files.
  • Preparing artwork using Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
  • Managing prepress and digital print workflows.
  • Setting up and calibrating files for production.
  • Monitoring print, coating and texture quality.
  • Troubleshooting print and production issues.
  • Supporting new product trials and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining digital files, records and version control.

Skills & Experience:

We would be interested in speaking with an experienced Digital Print & Texture Technician or candidates from a similar digital print, prepress or manufacturing background.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience within digital printing, prepress or artwork preparation.
  • Strong Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator skills.
  • Experience using RIP software and digital print workflows.
  • Knowledge of colour management and print quality.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Exposure to coatings, UV curing, laminates, flooring, packaging or surface finishing would be advantageous.
  • Good technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Previous DLE experience isn't essential if you have relevant transferable digital print and manufacturing experience.

This Digital Print & Texture Technician position would suit somebody who enjoys the technical side of digital printing but wants to work closer to the manufacturing process rather than purely within an artwork or studio environment.

If you're an experienced Digital Print & Texture Technician, Print Technician, Prepress Technician or Digital Print Specialist looking for a new opportunity in County Durham, please apply.
