Finance Manager

Introduction

Our client is a leading global financial services organization seeking a Finance Manager to join its Japan finance team. This role offers broad exposure across accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, and financial planning activities within an international environment.

About the Role

As a key member of a lean finance team, you will oversee financial operations for multiple legal entities in Japan, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. This position is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys managing diverse responsibilities and working closely with both local and global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes under IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Prepare financial and regulatory reports for local and global stakeholders.
• Support tax filings and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Manage and enhance internal controls and financial governance processes.
• Contribute across accounting, treasury, tax, controllership, and FP&A activities.
• Partner with regional and global teams on finance-related projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards, and tax regulations.
• CPA, US CPA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Insurance or financial services industry experience is advantageous.
