Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer supports *** operations in Torrance by developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies. The role focuses on safety, quality, delivery, and cost while ensuring compliance with Client and aerospace regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions
• Support machining, assembly, and test operations for aerospace hardware
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to production processes
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve production issues
• Lead and support first article inspections (FAI) and product launches
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and cost
• Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities and root cause / corrective action efforts
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, Client internal standards, and customer requirements
• Provide shop floor support, troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process challenges
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, inspection, tooling)
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies
• Experience supporting CNC machining or complex assemblies
• Knowledge of SAP, MES, or manufacturing execution systems
• Experience with regulated environments and flight critical hardware
Work Environment
• On site role at the *** Torrance manufacturing campus
• Regular interaction with production teams, quality, engineering, and leadership
• Mix of shop floor and office based work supporting both production and improvement initiatives
