Mergent Group is partnering with a leading global robotics and industrial technology organisation to recruit an Assistant Robotics Operator for an exciting upcoming deployment based out of Brisbane. 

This is not your standard field role.  It’s a rare opportunity for a motivated junior or entry-level candidate to break into the rapidly growing world of robotics, UAV operations, industrial inspections, and advanced technology, working alongside experienced senior operators on real-world projects across Australia.

What’s on Offer:  

  • Outer Brisbane-based role with immediate start in the next 3 weeks   

  • Initial 1-month deployment, focussing on future project pipeline 

  • Working on inner city and regional infrastructure, no one day will be the same   

  • Routine deployment will incorporate a healthy standby rate and excellent field based operating rate of pay. 

  • Penalty rates and remote living allowances, including meals and accommodation 

  • Flights provided from any capital city 

  • Leading internal training provided   

  • Work alongside bleeding edge robotics specialists   

 

 

About the Role: 

Working directly with a Senior Robotics Operator, you’ll support a range of specialised field projects involving: 

  • Inland marine robotics and tank inspection operations  

  • Robotic inspection technologies  

  • Potential UAV/drone operations and support  

  • Equipment setup, testing, and operational support  

  • Technical field work across industrial environments  

  • Reporting and operational documentation  

  • Travel-based project deployment work across Queensland and beyond  

  • Most of the initial deployment is expected to involve work around Rockhampton, with return home on weekends where project schedules allow. 

 

About You:

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn and grow within an emerging technology industry. 

You may come from backgrounds such as: 

  • Electrical or mechanical trades  

  • Robotics or mechatronics  

  • UAV/drone operations  

  • Technical field services  

  • Mining or industrial operations  

  • GIS, mapping, or technical reporting  

  • Defence, marine, or engineering support environments  

Most importantly, we’re looking for: 

  • A great attitude and willingness to learn  

  • Strong technical aptitude  

  • Ability to work within a team and adapt in field environments  

  • Interest in robotics, UAVs, and advanced technology  

  • Flexibility to travel and work away during deployments  

Desirable: 

  • CASA RePL licence  

  • Industrial or heavy industry experience  

  • Confined space or working at heights tickets  

  • Technical reporting or GIS experience
