Our client is looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their close-knit finance team and build a long-term career. This is an opportunity to get exposure across both day-to-day operational finance and month-end accounting, with ongoing mentoring from an experienced Head of Finance.
You'll work across a diverse portfolio in a fast-paced environment while gradually taking on more responsibility across management accounting, consolidated reporting and financial analysis as your experience grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing accounts payable and daily financial transactions
- Daily bank reconciliations and cash reporting
- Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end reporting
- Supporting BAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation and other statutory obligations
- Assisting with cash flow reporting and finance administration
- Supporting audits and compliance activities
- Communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with continuous improvement across finance processes
- Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer or similar finance role
- Exposure to month-end processes including journals and reconciliations
- Strong accounts payable experience
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Accounting degree completed or currently studying CA/CPA (or looking to commence)
- $80,000-$85,000 + Super
- Hybrid working (3 days in the South Yarra office, 2 days from home)
