My client, a national association representing suppliers of packaging and processing automation, technology and equipment, is looking for an Operations & Membership Officer to help drive their member and industry services forward.
The organisation runs industry-leading events, including a flagship triennial trade exhibition, alongside a strong member services and partnerships program. With over 150 Australian-based company members, this is a genuinely varied role working closely with the General Manager, CEO and business partners across the full operations of the association.
What you'll be doing:
- Proactively identifying, targeting and converting new member companies to drive satisfaction, retention and growth.
- Coordinating the association's presence at domestic and international trade events, from stand design and staffing through to marketing and lead follow-up.
- Building and nurturing relationships with sponsors and service partners, and pitching new partners that resonate with the membership.
- Driving member communications across newsletters, LinkedIn, forums and other digital channels, including publications and member content.
- Delivering clear, timely reporting on acquisition, sponsorship revenue, event performance and marketing engagement.
- Managing the association's recurring events calendar, including its flagship exhibition, an annual awards program, and other member gatherings.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years' experience in a customer-facing, coordination or business operations role (association, events or B2B environment preferred).
- Experience in an industry association or membership organisation.
- Strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High proficiency with CRM/member database systems, MS Office Suite and cloud-based platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional context.
Great to have (not essential):
- Background in events coordination or trade exhibition delivery.
- Exposure to sponsorship or partnership management.
- Familiarity with the packaging, processing or broader manufacturing sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a relationship-driven operator who wants genuine variety, autonomy and the chance to play a key role in the continued success of a peak industry body.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, circa $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation, with interstate and occasional international travel a few times a year.
