ProcureOne are exclusively partnering a small business, with a large reach, to help them recruit a new IT Commercial & Risk Manager to their Senior team.
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for leading the commercial relationship with their key technology vendor and other vendors, ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement supporting a critical platform. You will strike a balance between protecting the interests of the organisation while promoting a positive and trusting relationship with key suppliers.
You will also operate the company’s Risk Management Programme, working with risk-owners to ensure that key risks are identified and that controls and mitigations are in-place and appropriately monitored.

You will also operate the company’s Risk Management Programme, working with risk-owners to ensure that key risks are identified and that controls and mitigations are in-place and appropriately monitored.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vendor Management: Develop and maintain a strong, collaborative commercial relationship with the main technology vendor, fostering open communication and mutual trust, building towards a crucial negotiation in 2029.
- Contract Governance: Oversee all aspects of the IT vendor contract, including performance monitoring, compliance tracking, and financial management.
- Performance Optimization: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the vendor meets or exceeds service level agreements (SLAs). Identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Risk Program Management: operate the company’s Risk Management Framework to ensure that they remain within risk appetite and correctly identify, control and mitigate new and emerging risks.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and assess potential risks associated with the vendor relationship and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including technical teams, service delivery managers, and senior leadership, to ensure alignment and achieve shared objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and explore opportunities to leverage the vendor's expertise to enhance the functionality and value.
- Incident Management: The successful IT Commercial & Risk Manager will be on the company rota for incident management.

Suitable candidates will have recent senior level IT Vendor Management experience including:
- Strong experience in commercial vendor management, preferably within the technology or telecommunications sector, managing risk programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, manage, and where required enforce complex contracts while at the same time fostering a sense of co-operation and partnership.
- Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and cloud-based platforms.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting.
- Ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing, and influence stakeholders.
- The ability to take ownership. Must be comfortable with flexible boundaries and be excited about taking responsibility for issues and seeing them through to conclusion rather than rigidly staying within job descriptions.
