Senior Manager (Database Platform)

A Global IT Service firm is looking for a Senior Manager for the Database Platform team.
In this role, you will lead a multinational team across Tokyo, North America, Paris and Bengaluru, responsible for the end-to-end database product lifecycle - strategy design, integration, development, operation and incident response.
You will lead the development, of our database platform, optimize diverse database solutions, and drive the establishment of a de facto standard for database operations, while proactively managing vendor communications and contributing opensource communities to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
- Establish and continuously update the database (OLTP) multi-cloud strategy, in collaboration with CxOs, all application teams and data analytic (OLAP: Online Analytical Processing) teams
- Lead and mentor a multinational team to oversee the development and stable operation of our core database platform
- Architect and optimize database solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency across the ecosystem
- Manage large-scale database infrastructure projects, ensuring high availability and seamless integration with private cloud services
- Conduct high-level vendor communication and negotiations to optimize infrastructure performance, licensing, and support
- Drive continuous improvement in database platform architecture to meet evolving, data-intensive needs
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, focusing on service quality and customer satisfaction

Required skills:
- Experience of product management, product development and/or DevOps of cloud products, especially in the area of both private and public IaaS, PaaS, cloud orchestration, database, data analytics, ITIL, or other relevant technical domains
- Experience in Cloud platform industry (More than 10 years)
- Experience in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams (More than 5 years)
- Good understanding of Cloud industry, technology and DevOps process
- Previous leadership and management experience of a mid-size organization (at least 30, ideally 60+ members) in a tech company
- More than 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
- Strong English proficiency for cross-cultural team management and vendor negotiations
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and solve high-level technical/operational problems
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with international stakeholders and vendors from CxOs to peer engineering managers

Working hours: 9:00 - 17:30 (Mon-Fri)
