Position Summary
The Qualitative Research Evaluator Contractor, in collaboration with the client Lead Evaluator, the client data structure, the Family Engagement Organization (FEO), Program Director (PD), and client Governance, will design and implement a participatory, systems-level evaluation of the system of care.
Leveraging Sheila Pires’ systems-building approach, the Qualitative Research Evaluator Contractor will engage families and youth as researchers and center community-driven evaluation. The Qualitative Research Evaluator Contractor will leverage existing infrastructure within the client Department of Performance Improvement, developing sustainable processes that naturally build off continuous quality improvement feedback loops and meet federal data reporting requirements. The Qualitative Research Evaluator Contractor will also be responsible for maintaining ongoing collaboration and training of the Family Evaluation Workgroup.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Qualifications for position: The Qualitative Research Evaluator Contractor must have experience in qualitative research, in systems-level evaluation, in System of Care grant reporting, and in designing and facilitating community engaged research and educational opportunities. A doctoral degree in human services, education, or a related field is required for this position.
Skills and knowledge required: The Lead Evaluator shall have 3+ years leading qualitative research/evaluation in complex human services systems. Knowledge of System of Care framework, and Qualitative Research Methods is required.
Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements: This position may require out of state travel periodically to attend national conferences, as well as some local travel, to attend meetings, public events, and other activities addressing children’s behavioral health.

- Design, implement, and disseminate qualitative research evaluations for the Rhode Island System of Care Grant;
- Collect, analyze, and report data at program and systems levels;
- Use data to drive decisions and system implementation;
- Engage community partners in the evaluation processes;
- Plan and facilitate qualitative research projects with people who have lived experience navigating youth behavioral health services in Rhode Island;
- Support strategic planning initiatives and cultivation of community partnerships;
- Collaborate with interagency teams to inform the evaluation processes.;
- Maintain secure data dashboards;
- Provide evaluation and project insight as needed.
