Overview
MCR are looking for an Energy Marshal in Melbourne to work on large hyperscale data centre construction projects
In this role, you will be the key authority overseeing safe isolation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and energisation activities across the construction and commissioning phases. You will ensure all contractors and teams strictly adhere to high-standard energy control and electrical safety procedures.

MCR are looking for an Energy Marshal in Melbourne to work on large hyperscale data centre construction projects
In this role, you will be the key authority overseeing safe isolation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and energisation activities across the construction and commissioning phases. You will ensure all contractors and teams strictly adhere to high-standard energy control and electrical safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce the site Energy Isolation & Electrical Safety Program.
- Review, approve, and audit LOTO plans, Method of Procedures (MOPs), and energisation sequences.
- Conduct assurance audits and spot-checks to maintain compliance and zero-harm outcomes.
- Coordinate energisation activities with commissioning teams, electrical contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on hazardous energy control and high-voltage systems.
- Proven experience as an Energy Marshal, Controlling Energy Marshal, Permit to Work Co-Ordinator or equivalent senior electrical safety role on large-scale construction projects.
- Hyperscale data centre or mission-critical project experience strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of LOTO, electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E or Australian equivalents), and energy isolation procedures.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
